Pencils, spiral notebook (preferably 4 small ones, one= for each quarter), 1 pkg of pencils to supply room (a point of extra credit for remembering to do this before Labor Day);
Graphing Calculator: Preferably a TI (84 is the most universal at this time)
Grading:
Notebook:= At quiz time, I will collect and grade notebooks. I will be checking to make sure you have notes for each lesson and the homework done for each day. Late notebooks will receive no credit. ALL notebooks will be expected on time. If you are absent any days, you are expected to g= et the notes on your own and complete the assignment as well. If this is a problem, you should be in the morning you return to get help.
Quizzes: = These are given about once a week and they will be worth 10-20 points. There will be vocabulary quizzes occasionally as well. All tests and quizzes must be done in pencil or there will be a deduction in the grade.
Tests: These are given at the end of each chapter. Again, everyone takes a test on time. If this is a problem, due to absences, you must make arrangements before coming to class that day. Any test not passed may be retaken for a 70% within one week of the original test. Retakes are done before or after school. They may be done during a study hall if arrangements are made in advance.
Extra Credit will be
limited. Take advantage of it when it is available.
Absences: Assignments will always be posted ahead of time. You MUST stay caught up. There will be no excused late work or tests. If you are absent the day of the test or quiz, you MUST be in the morning you return to make arrangements to make it up. If you know in advance that you are going to be gone, all work must be done before you leave. Again, any work turned in after you return, may get a deduction.
Expectations:
1= ) We will begin class promptly. Be on time.
2= ) Be prepared every day.
3= ) Be respectful of others.
4= ) If you make the effort, you will not fail this class.
Be watching for my website in the future. I will have assignments and notes posted so you can stay caught up when necessary.
I will be available every day from 7:30 – 4, please come in to keep me company if you need any help at all. Have a great year!
