Third Quarter

During the past few weeks, we have been very busy working on our piņata.  This is a project that is done with each level of Spanish.  Winners are chosen from each class period, judged by faculty members.  Each class period's winner receives a T-shirt to proudly advertise their accomplishments, a free pass from a Chapter Test, and the distinct honor of "bragging rights!" Spanish II has been patiently awaiting their turn as they have watched the piņata constructions from other levels.  They have vowed to "out do" the other levels...and boy are they making an attempt!!

 

We will be beginning a new Chapter Unit soon in which we will be learning about Texas and its Hispanic population/influence.  They will also be learning about healthy lifestyles and nutrition in the Spanish language.  Be on the lookout for fitness videos and/or advertisements to demonstrate their newly acquired skills!  They will also learn how to command someone to do something in Spanish...a new verb tense for us!  They will be practicing this skill which performing skits to command...or rather instruct....others to perform specific tasks!
