Look what we are doing!!

Spanish II has been working in a new chapter in which we have dug deeper into the preterite tense of verbs...one of the two past tenses in Spanish. These students have really done quite well with this new verb tense! They are also learning how to "command" someone to do something in Spanish. To illustrate this new verb tense, students are performing skits in which they instruct a peer how to complete a task...not only do they have to tell their peers what to do, but also tell them what not to do! Many have chosen food related tasks...such as: "how to decorate cookies." So for example, they might tell their peers to "wash his/her hands first" or "Lava los manos" in Spanish. They might tell them "Don't forget to share with your friends" or "No se te olvides compartir con sus amigos." in Spanish. Of course one of the favorite things to do with these food related skits is to share their "props" with the class! Below are a few photos of their presentations!
During this semester, Spanish II students also do a presentation on Hispanic countries. We have had some great presentations so far. They are required to incorporate technology and a class activity into their presentations as well! Below are a few pictures of students presenting.
Jamie, Adam, and Steph did a presentation on Mexico and included a segment on Mexican weddings. Jamie brought some of her aunt's authentic items used during a Mexican wedding. Below is a picture of the lasso used during the wedding ceremony and the gold coins given to the bride on her wedding day.
