Third Quarter
Spanish III has just finished a chapter on food!!
This was a fun chapter for the students as they got to practice
their newly learned skills of how to order in a restaurant at
Playa Azul in Beatrice!! The kids enjoyed this and I think
were impressed by the amount of Spanish their understood and
were able to communicate with native speakers!! They also
got to
experience some new foods...which is always fun!!
Spanish III has been working hard learning two challenging grammar concepts both in the same chapter!! They learned how to use direct and indirect objects together which can be challenging for English Speakers as the word order of the sentence is completely backwards compared to our English equivalents. They also learned about unintentional event sentence construction which takes a passive voice and thus, is different than we have learned in other constructions. In addition to this, we also tackled por vs. para....another challenging language concept!! Whew!!! After that, we needed a break!!!
And we are taking it!! We have shut our books for a bit to enjoy constructing pinatas! Be on the look out for the Empire State Building with King Kong climbing it! This pinata is taller than some elementary students!!
