Look What We Are Doing!!

Third Quarter

Boy have we been busy learning about the Spanish Culture and Language!!  By now, Spanish 8 students know the alphabet, how to greet one another, say their names, name colors, tell time, and say the date!!!

We have also spent some time learning the Hispanic countries and even presented murals, a traditional Hispanic art form, representing these countries!  Wow, these students are great with technology!!

We will soon be learning how to describe the weather and the seasons as we  are (im)patiently waiting for "la primavera!!"  (Spring)!!  During this unit, we will be doing webquests in the media center to find out the weather in many Hispanic cities and then presenting our findings in class...of course in Spanish!

We have also just completed a "calendario" (calendar) project in which the students were assigned a month of the year and had to label the month in Spanish.  They also researched and included Hispanic holidays or festivals celebrated during their assigned months!  They also presented these calendars in the Spanish language to the rest of their classmates! Take a look at their creations!!!
