 BRANDON HOFSTETTER Private EO1 Brandon Hofstetter enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard shortly after graduation from high school (June 23, 2003). His unit is Dep 1, Troop C, 1-167th Cavalry Squadron, Beatrice Armory. His incentive to join was to serve our country in a time of need and to help with college education funding. Combat Training: Brandon took his Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, KY graduating from there August 14, 2004. Military Occupational Specialty Training: M1A1 Abrams Tank System Maintainer/Mechanic Began - August 16, 2004; Graduating – December 9, 2004 The M1A1 Abram Tank is the largest Military Tank. He has been in training for learning the basics of the Abram Tank, how to drive it, wire it, convert it to run on whatever type of fuel, propane, etc. is available. These tanks run on a turbine engine on which they are also learning the maintenance and troubleshooting procedures to making it run.
