Trojan Football Ends Successful Season
2015 Trojan Football
The 2015 Trojan football season came to an end, but not before a great finish and playoff appearance in Class C2. The season began with a dissappointing 8-7 loss to HTRS and two more close losses to highly rated Sutton and Wilber-Clatonia teams. These games keyed a critical focus for the team toward their goal of winning the C2-3 District title. What ensued was a great run of six straight victories. A 14-0 victory over Centennial sealed the District Championship and a birth in the 16-team Nebraska Class C2 State Playoffs.
On a rainy night in Hastings, NE the Trojans fell to #2 seeded Hastings St. Cecilia. Despite the loss, the game capped a season filled with excellence and an obvious positive statement to what hard work in the offseason, as well as during the season, can lead to.
Along the way, several school records were broken. Colby Ensz broke the single game Trojan rushing record with an incredible mark of 420 yards versus Malcolm. Colby also set the season rushing mark with 1,829 yards and currently holds the career rushing mark as a junior. Sophomore foreign exchange student, Steffen Hotes also set the mark for most extra points in a season, after making 31 of his 34 attempts.
