Sixth graders know how important it is to think while they read. They are reminded monthly as they complete their four thinkmarks for the book they selected to read for the month. As a month begins, they create a book poster to advertise their book. Bookmarks are added weekly with examples of literary techniques and the book's plot, setting and characters. Upon completion of the book, thinkmarks and poster, students are expected to successfully pass an Accelerated Reader Quiz on their book.
