TRI COUNTY STUDENTS COMPETE AT STATE
TRI COUNTY AGRICULTURE EDUCATION COMPETE AT STATE
Twenty-two students enrolled in agriculture education classes at Tri County schools competed in the State Career Development Events (CDE) in Lincoln April 4-6th. The competitions were held at the University of Nebraska East Campus, Pinnacle Bank Arena and Southeast Community College. Most of the contests had district qualifying events earlier in the school year. There is no class separation in Ag Ed contests, all schools compete in the same contest. Tri County competed in nine contests. To earn a state ribbon teams and individuals must finish in the top 50% of the competition.
The Agri-Science contest is for first year Ag Education students. Tri County earned a blue team ribbon. Logan Larsen, Hanna Taylor, and Ella Crawford earned blue ribbons and Cole Siems received a red ribbon. The team placed 15th out of 106 schools.
The Natural Resources Team received a white team ribbon. Alexx Malchow brought home a blue ribbon and Pete Spilker and Savannah Gerlach earned red ribbons. Jacob Kapke was the other team member.
The Agronomy Team finished 18th out of 108 schools and earned a blue team ribbon. Pete Spilker finished with a purple ribbon. Evan Larsen earned a blue, Chad Niemeier earned a red and Creighton Niemeier finished with a white ribbon.
The Floriculture Team placed 14th in the state and earned a red team ribbon. Taylor Cammack and Sophie Linnemann lead the team with individual blue ribbons. Tiffany Pearson brought home a red ribbon. The other team member was Madison Freese.
The Tri County Poultry Team placed 10th in the state and earned a red ribbon. Sophie Linnemann brought home a blue individual ribbon and Lucas Weise received a white. Other team members were Jacques VanZyl and Bonnie Jantzen.
Pete Spilker’s 10th place individual MIG finish highlighted the Welding Team competition. Pete went on stage at PBA to receive his award. The team earned a white ribbon. Other team members were Dylan Seibolt, Ethan Paxton and Brandon Seibolt.
The Food Science Team earned a white team ribbon. Sophie Linnemann brought home a purple ribbon and Tiffany Pearson finished with a red ribbon. Freshman Ella Crawford and Nicole Vodraska were the other team members.
The Ag Mechanics Team was paced by Ethan Paxton’s blue ribbon. The team brought home a red ribbon. Other team members included Chad Niemeier, Evan Larson and Creighton Niemeyer.
The Farm Business Management Team consisted of Madison Freese, Chad Niemeier, Creighton Niemeyer and Evan Larson. Madison earned a white ribbon.
