Tri County Elementary Celebrates Red Ribbon/READ Week

Tri County Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon/READ Week October 15th-18th. Students participated in drug awareness activities throughout the week, while also getting to participate in fun healthy activities. The Elementary Student Council helped plan the theme/dress days as well as activities for the week. Prizes were given out during the week for students wearing their red ribbons and also for contests held throughout the week. Winners for the coloring contest were: Preschool (in order from 1st place to 3rd place)- Blakely Weber, Oakley Strouf, Charlotte Gronemeyer, Kindergarten-Landon Bice, Elijah Rosenthal, Rikki Hohensee, 1st Grade-Bailey Morgan, Bayne Drewes, Dayton Pohlmann, 2nd Grade-Emily Wood, Ava Cunningham, Riley Schardt, 3rd Grade-Sayber Hoesche, Justin Schwisow, Sam Koos, 4th Grade-Hailee Miller, Olive Clark, and Henry Holtmeier. Grades 4, 5, and 6 had the option of writing an essay, poem, or decorating their locker with a drug awareness theme. The 5th and 6th Grade classrooms submitted essays that were judged. Winners of the essay contest were: 5th Grade (from 1st place to 3rd place)-Brooke Morgan, Isabelle Peters, Chaylie Wade, 6th Grade-Kristin Lange, Teanna Stohs, and Pierce Damrow. Thank you to all the effort those 5th and 6th graders put into their essays, they were all very good! The Elementary Student Council also held a fundraiser on Wednesday where all elementary students participated in a dance competition open to the public. The Student Council raised $326.00 which was donated to Tri County's TeamMates Chapter!  The Author visit with Bruce Arant ended a great week for students. Students had the opportunity to attend writing and illustration workshops, as well as picture book presentations by Bruce.
