SEVEN TRI COUNTY FFA MEMBERS APPLY FOR STATE FFA DEGREE

 

Seven Tri County High School Agriculture Education students have applied for the 2019 Nebraska State FFA Degree.  The seniors are Chad Niemeier, son of Todd & Kathryn Niemeier; Savannah Gerlach, daughter of Rick & Amy Gerlach; Madison Freese, daughter of Ann Freese and Aaron Freese; Creighton Niemeyer, son of Ken & Shannon Niemeyer; Evan Larson, son of Michael & Jessica Larson; Taylor Cammack, daughter of Mike & Jill Cammack and Alexis Gerritse, daughter of Doug & Janet Gerritse.

The State FFA Degree is the highest degree the Nebraska State FFA Association can bestow.  A member must be a senior or one year out of high school to apply. They must have a “C” academic average, submit two years of financial record books, interview with a board of Ag Education instructors and pass an oral test.  In addition the applicant must earn 500 leadership points, serve as an officer or committee chair and volunteer for 25 hours of community service. The student must be versed in parliamentary procedure and public speaking.

The State Degree ceremonies will be conducted at the State FFA Convention in Lincoln on April 5th at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  Mr. Dave Barnard and Mr. Kurt Wissenburg  have served as the candidate’s Advisors.
