FFA / FFA ALUMNI HOSTS 50th ANNIVRSARY CELEBRATION
TRI COUNTY FFA & FFA ALUMNI HOLD 50 YEAR CELEBRATION
The Tri County FFA and FFA Alumni celebrated their 50 Year Anniversary on Saturday, November 9th at Tri County Schools. FFA members conducted an Open House in the afternoon and at 6:00 pm a catered supper by Kevin Kimmerling was held. Following supper TC FFA Advisor Dave Barnard served as master of ceremonies for the evening program.
The program started with an “honorary officer team” conducting opening ceremonies. The team consisted of Adam Wollenburg, Past Nebraska FFA Vice-President serving as President; Alexis Gerritse- Vice President; Auburn FFA Advisor Ashton Meints Bohling was Secretary, Vern Jantzen served as Treasurer; the Reporter was Duane Wollenburg; Don Esau, Charter Member was the Sentinel and Mr. Ken Malone current Palmyra FFA Advisor and former Tri County Advisor was the honorary Advisor. Those in attendance included past and current members, former Tri County FFA Advisors, current and past Tri County FFA State Officers and community members. A jacket display consisting of National FFA, State FFA, DeWitt FFA and a three generation display was set-up. The table center pieces were hundreds of photos and trophies. Those in attendance enjoyed past FFA scrapbooks and plaques.
Alumni President Kyle Spilker highlighted the alumni’s past accomplishments and thanked those who helped organize the celebration. Tri County past State Officers spoke about highlights during their years of serve. They included John Bergmeyer, Savannah Gerlach, Pam Pohlmann Mueller and Adam Wollenburg. Mrs. Leslie Waldo Boswell visited about being the first female FFA member in the Tri County Chapter. Past Tri County FFA Advisors were Mr. Kurt Wissenburg, Mr. Ken Malone and Mr. Bob Schanou. The meeting adjourned with FFA Closing Ceremonies.
