FFA Chapter Announces 6th Grade Speech Winners!
TRI COUNTY SIXTH GRADERS COMPETE IN SPEECH
The Tri County FFA Chapter conducted their first annual 6th Grade Rural Safety Public Speaking contest in May. The activity was to create a safety awareness in the student’s home and community and develop oral communication skills.
Advisor Dave Barnard and sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Ginger Pittman coordinated the event. Students developed and presented 2 - 4 minute speeches on safety topics. The presentations were given this year by videos submitted or one-on-one deliveries. Awards were provided by the FFA Chapter through a Harley Bergmeyer Leadership grant. All participants earned a medal for their efforts.
Sydney Brauer earned the first place trophy. Her speech was on “Cattle Safety”. Kennadee VanWinkle finished as runner-up through her “Horse Safety” presentation. She also earned a trophy. Other top five speeches were given by:
Meila Gronemeyer, 3rd - “Handling Dogs Safely” - Trophy
Lucy Morrisey, 4th - “Child Care on the Farm” - Trophy
Kenzi Scherling, 5th - “Home Child Care” - Trophy
