TRI COUNTY AG STUDENTS EQUINE JUDGING STATE RUNNER-UP
VANWINKLE LEADS EQUINE JUDGERS TO RUNNER-UP FINISH
Four Tri County FFA members competed in the 2021 Horse Evaluation Contest on May 24th at Norfolk. The competition was hosted by the Northeast Community College and held at the Chuck Pohlmann Ag Complex. There were 22 schools represented and 97 individuals judging. Tri County placed 2nd at the State Equine Career Development Event behind Boone Central FFA. The Tri County team was 2nd in Performance Judging, 5th in Oral Reasons, first in the written exam and third in Halter Judging.
Kaden VanWinkle won the oral reasons and halter judging individual championships to pace Tri County. He finished 5th overall and earned two top certificates and three purple ribbons. Emerson Schultis placed 7th overall and received a blue ribbon. Emerson placed fifth in Performance. Avery Schultis placed 24th overall and brought home a white ribbon. Cassidy Thavenet earned a white ribbon. The Tri County Team was awarded second place team medals and brought home a team plaque.
