TRI COUNTY FFA AT 94th NATIONAL CONVENTION

TRI COUNTY FFA ATTENDS NATIONAL CONVENTION

Nine FFA members represented the Tri County Chapter at the 94th National FFA Convention October 27th to October 30th.  The annual convention was held at the Indianapolis, IN Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium.

Chapter members attending were Ellie Peters, Kaden VanWinkle, Mya Maxwell,  Alexx Malchow, August Gerlach, Emerson Schultis, Gracin Hahn, Emily Thavenet and John Wehrman. Advisor Dave Barnard sponsored the group.  The ag education students attended convention sessions, leadership workshops, tours to the Louisville Slugger Bat Factory,  Churchill Downs, a Thoroughbred Race Horse farm, Marengo Cave, and enjoyed two Nebraska sponsored dances.  FFA senior Officers Gracin Hahn and Emily Thavenet went on the national stage at the second session to accept the National 2-Star Chapter award.  Tri County was one to eighteen Nebraska FFA Chapters to be recognized at Indianapolis.   The group enjoyed the national career show Thursday.  

On Saturday FFA member Alexx Malchow was awarded the American FFA Degree.  Alexx’s mother was present to support her.  The highlight of the convention for Tri County FFA was competing in the National Milk Quality and Dairy Products Contest.  The Tri County team consisted of sophomores. John Wehrman and Kaden VanWinkle earned silver level medals.  Ellie Peters and August Gerlach received bronze medals.  The team brought home a bronze level plaque from nationals.
