TRI COUNTY STATE FFA DEGREE CANDIDATES

SIX TRI COUNTY FFA MEMBERS APPLY FOR STATE FFA DEGREE 

Six Tri County High School Agriculture Education students have applied for the 2022 Nebraska State FFA Degree.  The seniors are Nick Loxterkamp, son of Joe & Gail Loxterkamp; Gavin Weichel, son of Chad & Deb Weichel; Brevin Damrow, son of Derrick & Jessi Damrow; Gracin Hahn, son of James & Robin Hahn; Emerson Schultis, daughter of Greg & Melissa Schultis; Emily Thavenet, daughter of James & Jamie Thavenet.

The State FFA Degree is the highest degree the Nebraska State FFA Association can bestow.  A member must be a senior or one year out of high school to apply.  They must have a “C” academic average, submit two years of financial record books, interview with a board of Ag Education instructors and pass an oral test.  In addition the applicant must earn 500 leadership points,  serve as an officer or committee chair and volunteer for 25 hours of community service.  The student must be versed in parliamentary procedure and public speaking.

  State Degree ceremonies will be conducted at the State FFA Convention in Lincoln on April 8th at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  Mr. Dave Barnard serves as the candidates’ Advisor.
