Thank you to staff and families for the feedback regarding calendar planning for the 2023-2024 school year! Rest assured that all comments were read and considered in making recommendations for the options presented to the Board of Education. At the December meeting, after considering feedback, pros and cons, the attached calendar was adopted. The first priority was meeting mandated instruction hours for all students, including hours necessary to award graduation credit each semester. Those requirements were the driver of the start / end dates for the year. The next priorities focused on supporting students through our MTSS process, providing collaboration time for staff and assisting families navigate late start time. To that end, the Board chose to provide a 1-hour late start time each Wednesday for MTSS collaboration to occur. Bus routes will run at the same time Monday thru Friday and supervision will be available at the building for students during the late start mornings. A team of staff are working on plans that will provide students opportunities to complete homework and enrichment activities, focus on wellness and breakfast, engage in community service, and more.
