FFA State Convention
Tri County FFA represented well among the 7,634 members, advisors and guests present at the 2023 Nebraska State FFA Convention!
State Degree Recipients included Carter Holtmeier and Ellie Peters.
Carter Holtmeier earned state runner-up with his proficiency in the area of Swine Production Entrepreneurship. He was also recognized as a State Star Finalist (top 8 in the state) in the area of production.
The Conduct of Chapter Meeting (CCM) team consisting of Jacob Wollenburg, Parker Person, Sydney Brauer, Isabelle Peters, Garrett Smidt, Henry Kapke and Jason Wehrman earned a gold plaque and state runner-up.
The Senior Parliamentary Procedure team consisting of Avery Schultis, Kaden VanWinkle, Evan Quackenbush, Dusty Kapke, Alex Paxton and John Wehrman earned a bronze plaque.
Sydney Brauer earned a gold medal and placed 5th in Junior Public Speaking with her topic on Mental Health in Agriculture
Henry Holtmeier earned a gold medal and placed 5th in Discovery Speaking with his topic on Cover Crops.
Jacob Wollenburg earned a gold medal and placed 6th in Cooperative Speaking.
The Agriscience team consisted of Landen Koch, Jacob Wollenburg, Sydney Brauer and Zac Strein. Landen and Jacob both earned a red ribbon.
The Agronomy team consisted of Kaden VanWinkle, Landen Koch, Evan Quackenbush and Kaden Koch. Kaden V. earned a red ribbon.
The Ag Mechanics and Technology Team consisted of Carter Holtmeier, Colton Bales and Parker Person.
The Environmental and Natural Resources Team consisted of Kaden VanWinkle, Lucas Lewandowski, Evan Quackenbush, and Ellie Peters. Kaden and Lucas earned a blue ribbon and Evan and Ellie earned a red ribbon.
The Livestock Management Team consisting of Cobi Bales, Carter holtmeier, Dusty Kapke, Avery Schultis and John Wehrman earned 10th overall out of 57 teams.
The Welding Team consisted of Kaden Koch (ARC), Kaden VanWinkle (MIG) and Dusty Kapke (TIG). Kaden K. earned 8th overall in ARC, and both Kaden K. and Kaden V. earned a blue ribbon.
The Junior High Quiz Bowl Team consisted of Garrett Smidt, Owen Lewandowski, Devon Rasmussen, and Henry Holtmeier.
Tri County was also recognized for participating in the Connecting Chapter Program through the Nebraska Farm Bureau.
In addition, members got to attend a career fair and expo, leadership workshops, tour the Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corporation, package meals for the Lincoln Food Bank, and network with fellow FFA members and agricultural professionals from across the state.
