A native of Tecumseh, Nebraska, Mr. Morrissey has been at Tri County schools since 2008. During his tenure, the Tri County Band has increased in size from 18 to 52 students. Marching Band and Jazz Band have also been reintroduced to the program. Students in the Tri County Band program have been selected for multiple All-State Bands, numerous collegiate sponsored honor bands, and the U.S. Army All American Marching Band. Prior to Tri County, Mr. Morrissey taught for 4 years in Tahlequah, OK. While at Tahlequah Public Schools, he was the Head Middle School Band Director and the Percussion Instructor for the Tahlequah Orange Express High School Band. In college, Mr. Morrissey was a member of the Cornhusker marching Band where he played in the Drumline. Highlights of his time at the University of Nebraska include travelling with the band to Ireland, attending 4 bowl games, marching in the Rose Bowl Parade, and meeting a trumpet player he would later marry. In 2013, Mr. Morrissey received his Masters Degree in Music Education from Boston University. He has attended many music workshops to improve music education at Tri County including both levels of the Teaching Guitar Workshop, the Dan Ryder Marching Band Drill Design Workshop, and the Conducting Workshop for Music Educators at The Juilliard School in New York City. In the summer of 2013, Mr. Morrissey was a writing team member for the Department of Education's State Music Standards. Mr. Morrissey lives in DeWitt with his wife Nicole and their three daughters Lucy, Norah, Stella and son Spencer.
