News from Elementary Music
Elementary music students have been keeping busy with a variety of activities. Singing, dancing, playing rhythm instruments, learning note names and writing rhythms, studying instrument families and learning to play recorders have kept the elementary students busy and smiling. Special performances this fall included singing "Read A Book" for the author visit in October (Gr. 2-6), Veterans Day (Gr. 3), and the Christmas Programs held on Thursday, December 17 (Grades K-6).
Tri County welcomed student teacher Ryan Frahm. Mr. Frahm is finishing his degree in K-12 music education from Doane College and worked with Mr. Morrissey and the HS and JH Bands and JH Choir and with Mrs. Reynolds and the TC Singers and K-6 general music.
I am very grateful to those students and parents who “picked an apple” from my tree at the elementary open house. Individually, it may not seem like much, but when all these small contributions are combined, the result really has a big impact. I’d like to remind everyone that an easy way to support the elementary music department is to clip and save Box Tops for Education logos found on hundreds of food products, including General Mills cereals, Betty Crocker and Pillsbury products, Zip Lock baggies, Scott toilet paper, Kleenex brand tissues and many more. Each logo is worth 10¢ and all money earned will go to support the elementary music program.
Thanks again for your support of the Tri County Music Department. Strong parental support and involvement in our school is one reason why Tri County such a great place!
Karen Reynolds, Vocal Music Director
