6th Grade Science classes worked together as a team to stack cups using only four strings and a rubber band. They worked on communicating in a positive way to make precise movements to stack the cups into a pyramid shape. They could not use extra hands only the one holding the string.
They also learned about Potential vs. Kinetic Energy and had to use problem solving skills in working with craft sticks to store potential energy to make the sticks explode using kinetic energy.
Skills Learned:
Teamwork-Positive Attitude and Encouraging each other.
Perseverance: Never give up even if it seems “impossible.”
Problem-Solving: Try different strategies and improve techniques.
Science Concepts: Having fun learning about Potential Vs Kinetic Energy in a hands on way.
