I am excited to be in my first year as Superintendent at Tri County Public Schools.  I am in my 23rd year working in public education. I grew up, the oldest of three children, on a farm outside of Baileyville, KS. I attended, and graduated in 1999, from Baileyville-B&B Public Schools.

I began my career in 2003 as the social studies teacher at Axtell Public School, KS.  At Axtell, I was a teacher for seven years, and principal for four years.  Following that, I worked two years teaching online for Manhattan Virtual Academy of the Manhattan-Ogden, KS School District.  Most recently prior to working at Tri County Public Schools, I was superintendent and elementary principal at Pawnee City Public Schools for nine years.  Some of the coaching and sponsoring I've during my time as a teacher and administrator included:  Assistant Football, Head and Assistant Girls Basketball, Assistant Boys Basketball, Track, Yearbook, Quiz Bowl, Student Council, Class Sponsors, and Concessions Sponsor.

I am married to Carmen Rottinghaus who is a physical therapist in Pawnee City.  Carmen grew up, the oldest of four sisters, on a small farm outside of Wymore, NE. She attended, and graduated in 1999, from Wymore-Southern Public Schools, NE.

Carmen and I have three children:  Cameron (18), Isaac (13), and Phillip (11).  Cameron is attending her first year of college and is on the dance team at Concordia University in Seward.  Isaac and Phillip are attending Tri County Public Schools.

In my free time, I enjoy doing home improvement projects, playing piano, and golfing.
