Today we celebrated our 2nd–6th grade readers who completed a Library Reading Bingo during 3rd quarter! Students challenged themselves to read a variety of books that matched the different bingo squares, exploring new genres and types of stories along the way.
We are so proud of the 28 students who completed their boards and earned a celebration with ice cream sandwiches in the library!

Today Tri County students competed in the first-ever State Reading Rally competition, and we couldn’t be more proud!
Tri County had 3 of the 4 teams representing ESU 5, including a 3rd grade team, a 4th grade team, and a 6th grade team.
Our 3rd and 4th grade teams tied for 2nd place, finishing just behind Morrill in a very competitive division.
Our 6th grade team finished as STATE CHAMPIONS! 🥇📖

The JUNIOR HIGH track meet scheduled for tomorrow in Friend has been postponed due to the potential for inclement weather.

Last Friday, four Junior High music students represented Tri County at the annual Meridian Junior High Honor Clinic, joining students from 18 area schools. These students were selected through a competitive audition process.

✨ Tri County Student Earns Statewide Writing Honor! ✨
Congratulations to Tri County 6th grader Gabe Sowards, who has been named the winner of the 4th–6th grade category in the Nebraska Letters About Literature Contest, a prestigious statewide writing competition sponsored by the Nebraska Center for the Book and the Nebraska Library Commission.
For the contest, students write a personal letter to an author describing how a book impacted them or changed their perspective. Gabe wrote his award-winning letter to Evan Griffith, author of the novel Manatee Summer.
As the statewide winner in his division, Gabe will be honored at a special ceremony at the Nebraska State Capitol, where the Governor will recognize the students and present each winner with a Certificate of Achievement. The celebration will continue with a reception at the Bennett Martin Library, where winners will have the opportunity to share their letters and visit the Jane Pope Geske Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors.
This is an outstanding accomplishment and a tremendous honor. We are incredibly proud of Gabe for representing Tri County and for his exceptional writing.

Claire Schnuelle had a huge day in the triple jump at Doane last Friday. Her mark of 36-00.25 puts her #2 in school history, only 0.25" away from tying the school record! Congrats Claire!
High school track kicked off their season at Doane last Friday - here are the results! We had some great marks, highlighted by the boys 1st place finish. The boys and girls will compete again this coming Saturday (3/28) at Fairbury.
