On Thursday, November 13th, Seniors traveled to Fairbury to attend the annual Jefferson County Government Day.

The event, organized by the county commissioners and other county officials, gives students the opportunity to see what local government is all about. This includes what the jobs of the official involve, as well as how it impacts the lives of the constituents.

Students were put into small groups and rotated through the different offices including treasurer, clerk, assessor, highway and roads, emergency management, and so on. Each station gave the students an opportunity to see what the county officials do on a daily basis.
