Last week, Tri County FFA members traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, to attend the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo. During their three-day trip, students explored new places, learned more about agriculture, and made lasting memories together.
The chapter departed early Tuesday, October 20, flying to Indianapolis instead of driving because the National FFA Convention and Nebraska State Cross Country Meet fell during the same week. For some members, it was their first time flying! After arriving, students spent the afternoon working together and testing their problem-solving skills in an escape room.
On Wednesday, members traveled to Indiana Caverns in Corydon, Indiana, where they explored underground caves, saw Ice Age fossils, and enjoyed a boat ride along an underground river about 110 feet below the surface. They also experienced a zip line 50 feet above ground! Later that afternoon, members visited the National FFA Shopping Mall and Expo, where they explored agricultural businesses, colleges, and future career opportunities. The evening wrapped up with a concert featuring Ty Myers and Avery Anna.
On Thursday morning, members attended the First General Session and heard from the National FFA Officers and keynote speaker Scott McKain about leadership, personal growth, and making a positive impact. After the session, the chapter flew home so Mr. Wert could coach at the Nebraska State Cross Country Meet on Friday.
Overall, the trip gave Tri County FFA members unforgettable experiences, chances to strengthen friendships, and an even greater appreciation for everything FFA offers
.
