We are proud to announce that Tri County Schools has been named a 2026 Best Communities for Music Education award recipient by The NAMM Foundation! This is the 14th time we've received this honor, more than any other school district in Nebraska!

This year, 127 districts nationwide earned this honor, and we are one of only 4 in the state. This recognition belongs to our students, our administration, and everyone who makes music education a priority at Tri County Schools.

Today we had the honor of celebrating Gabe Sowards the Level I (Grades 4–6) Winner of the Letters About Literature contest! 🎉

Gabe was recognized at the Nebraska State Capitol during Governor Jim Pillen’s proclamation ceremony, where National Library Week was officially recognized and student winners from across the state were honored.

Gabe wrote a heartfelt letter to author Evan Griffith about the book Manatee Summer, reflecting on how the story changed his perspective on friendship, family, and kindness. In his letter, Gabe shared how the book helped him realize the importance of cherishing time with friends and loved ones, especially during difficult moments. He also wrote about learning to show compassion, whether supporting friends, caring for family members, or standing up for others and even animals in need. Most importantly, Gabe expressed how the story inspired him to better understand and manage his emotions while focusing on what truly matters in life.

Following the ceremony, Gabe and the other winners attended a reception at the Bennett Martin Public Library in Lincoln, where they had the opportunity to read their letters aloud. Each student’s letter was then signed and officially archived in the Jane Pope Geske Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors, creating a lasting legacy of their powerful writing.

Gabe, we are so proud of you for representing Tri County with such heart, thoughtfulness, and excellence!

Building Bridges Across Generations

This semester, our students have had the privilege of visiting the De Witt Community Center once a month to serve lunch and enjoy fellowship with the members of the De Witt Senior Center.

From sharing stories to serving meals, our students are learning the true value of community. A huge shoutout to the members of our FFA, FBLA, and National Honor Society (NHS) for leading the way with such kind hearts and helping hands!
